Words...

I had so much to say, and now I'm so tired of course!
The past two days have been AWFUL, but I'm going to get back on track.  I went to the store and bought a book with healthy recipes, and really read the labels before purchasing.  I got fresh chicken and turkey, as well as tuna steak.  Tomorrow I'm doing shrimp I think.  I even got whole grain wraps and Greek yogurt, which is supposed to be really good for you. And I got fruit!  I almost picked up several things I did not need, then I put them back!  Woot!
I also saw a quote in a book saying that is was better to "eat our calories, not drink them". Oh so wise.  So I avoided buying beverages b/c I know I should just drink water, NO flavor added!
I also am swearing off fast food.  I don't have the money, and it is SO UNHEALTHY!

Lastly, I know weight is not my thing, but I still think I need a scale.  I know it won't matter, but I just have this definite urge.

Today I don't feel well, so I'm hoping to feel better to get back on track with exercise too.  It should help these terrible cramps!  Bluck!

OH, and I think I'm going to clear out my cupboards and freezer and fridge of all the bad foods...but I don't want to waste it...I'm thinking of donating to people who NEED the extra fat on their bodies! I haven't found a place yet though...

Well, upward and onward...I WILL overcome! Because GOD will help me....gotta not take the credit!

179...

Ok, today was a good day.  I did make sure I had breakfast, and I lowered my daily calorie intake and I still have some left over. I also played volleyball for an hour tonight, which is a total plus!
I also realized that going to out to eat is NOT good!  I went to tropical smoothie, which is a "healthier" option, but I used 1500 calories in one meal!  I guess I didn't choose the healthiest of options while there of course. Sad times!  I'm glad I played volleyball today!
Tomorrow though is potluck breakfast at school! How will I resist?  I think I may have to splurge a little on breakfast, but then do well by eating a better lunch and dinner...and definitely WORK OUT! I had subway today, and the other 6in will be tomorrow. The subway meal was way better than tropical smoothie! Crazy!

Ok, well I'm off to get things to make my part of breakfast. Not exactly sure what I'm making, AND I have to get up early to make it...so....bedtime soon too! Should I go for healthy?  Probably!

Back to school!

I'm finally back in school! It was a delay, but I was back!!!
Today was a step back on the right way, I hope.  I ate breakfast!  I'm horrible at eating breakfast!  But it is the most important meal of the day. I'm trying to eat my 3/4 cup serving of special K each morning to start the day off right.  Then I had ravioli's, and for dinner I did go out, but it was to tropical smoothie, and they have better foods!  I had a super charged low cal smoothie...all natural!
But alas, no exercise. I'm going to go now and try to do my push-ups and crunches before bed.  When I was younger I used to do a routine every night before bed of push-ups, crunches, leg lifts, flutter kicks, and superman prone. I swear that's how I lost 20 lbs in one summer. That and dance. I danced every night too. That is one bad thing about not living on the bottom floor. It is hard to dance on the top floor and not wake the neighbors. It's hard to do most work outs without disturbing anybody with paper thin walls.  Boo! Oh I wish I could go back to those days!
So now I go, it's early enough that maybe I can do this before heading to bed, and still get some good sleep!

Mised a few days...sorry!

So it's been a week, and I'd like to say that I've had AMAZING results, but I'm a normal person, and therefore, that hasn't happened.
I still have a little bit of my cold but I feel a bit worn down. I didn't do my full exercises so I'm mad at myself today.  I did weight lifting though.
I have gotten into a great habit of lifting while watching some of my shows or movies I don't want to give up.
I also got this app for my ipod that I can use to record what I eat in a food journal. It MAKES me want to keep a food journal, and yells at me if I don't put my meals in :-).  I also realized today, based on my goals, I can actually eat a lot and still have calories to spare, which I never realized.  The problem isn't calories, it's fats and sugars.  I need to stick to the whole grains, fiber, and protein. Calories aren't all there is!
I've been thinking about joining anytime fitness.  I people read this, I'd say: "What is your opinion?"  But that's ok, it is for me, remember?
So we'll see if I can afford to join the gym.  I have to decide soon so I can have no sign up fee!  There's a deal til the 29th!

Time to go. I need to get some good sleep tonight so I can get over the last of this cold!

P.S. Another good thing?  I'm going to stop the soda!  I am drinking water! Woot! Sometimes juice or milk too!

My sister did well with weight watchers, but I really can't afford that too....grrr!

A new dawn, A new day

Ok, day two of writing, and, of course, I'm still failing, a little. My friends are here, so, of course we do a lot of eating!  BUT we made dinner ourselves, including brownies with low fat cream cheese!  We also did some walking today! But alas, they are here, and I am being rude, so I'll do this update tomorrow!

184 days and counting...

Well, here's my first real post.  I tried to do this earlier, but I was having some blog-issues.
So today was not the best of days on my journey.  My sleep took over, then I had so much to do before my friends come visit that I didn't get to really work out.  This is a BIG bummer! AND I went grocery shopping while hungry, also a big no no!  I did accomplish buying some wonderful fresh, low fat, low cal ingredients for a chicken dish I'll be making, as well as lots of goodies for a salad!  My new favorite dressing is Ken's Rasberry Walnut vinaigrette dressing from "Healthy Options", made with EVOO!!!   Only 3.5 grams of fat and 60 calories per 2 tbsp serving. AND it's so flavorful that I never go over the serving size, and sometimes, depending on salad size, I only use half that! YUM!

In other news I should talk about my goals here.  I used to have a weight loss goal.  That never seems to work because it feels unattainable!
Then I had a pants size goal.  Again,  never thought I was going to make it.
So, for my new goal, I'm going to focus on fitness rather than weight or size. My goal in 184 days now is two fold. One, I will conquer Signal Knob Mountain during daylight hours. It's a 10 mile hike, and yes, it IS a mountain. I need to complete it in less than a day. Two, I will walk/run 10 miles at one time, flat surface, without being winded. Those are my goals to reach before Peru.  If I reach them, I think I can really tackle the other goals with my new healthy habits.

So, I will update as best as I can, food eaten, fitness gains, and even setbacks. I'm not good with spelling, or with grammar, but I will try my best. If you haven't noticed, I'm a bit comma happy.

So here goes.  I started a few days ago, but now I'm at 184 days and an odd number of hours.
